About Robin's Nest
About: Robin’s Nest Child Advocacy Center provides a central place for services to abused children, coordinating with investigators from the Department of Social Services and law enforcement. Services include advocacy through the legal system, mental health counseling for children and family members, and community awareness efforts.
Statistics: In Caldwell County, about 60 percent of the abuse victims since July 2011 have been female, and 40 percent male; they ranged from 4 months to 18 years old, with an average age of 9; and 95 percent knew the alleged abuser well.
Fundraiser: The Spring Soiree to benefit Robin's Nest takes place Saturday at 7 p.m. at Cedar Rock Country Club. See www.robinsnestcac.org for details.
Quilts: The quilts are provided by the Pine Needles Quilt Guild. Mardi Gruber of the guild says Robin's Nest is the group's top charity.
