In an overall dismal election cycle for Republicans, Patrick McHenry is riding high. Having easily dispatched a challenge from within earlier this year, McHenry cruised past an organized and most well-funded Democratic rival nearly four weeks ago, capturing 58 percent of the vote.

When the police tracked them down and raided the apartment, an officer shot and killed one of the suspects.
