Peggy Rich
Peggy Lee Phillips Rich, 64, of Collettsville Rd., Lenoir, passed away Monday, May 5, 2008 at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care. Mrs. Rich was born Dec. 11, 1943 in Caldwell County to the late Blain Phillips and Jessie Hollifield Phillips. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Pauline Bentley. She was a precious mother, sister and friend. She was a graduate of N.C. School for the Deaf in Morganton. She was employed in the furniture industry and a member of the First Baptist Deaf Mission in Hickory. Survivors include her son, Kevin L. Rich of Lenoir; a brother, James Phillips of Lenoir; three sisters, Norma Phillips of Greensboro, Jean Reese of Greensboro and Betty Williams of Morganton; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held Thursday, May 8, 2008 at 2 p.m. in Pendry's Chapel with the Rev. Jessie Bowman and Rev. Tom Winebarger officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. The family requests that memorials be made to Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care at 902 Kirkwood St., Lenoir NC 28645.
