Rachel Elliott

Mrs. Rachel Ann Wilson Elliott, 62, of 2882 Mountcrest Circle, Concord, N.C. died Sunday, May 4, 2008 at Duke University Hospital in Durham, N.C. following a period of declining health.

She was born March 8, 1946 in Mecklenburg County, N.C. to Robert Lee Wilson and the late Madge Hullender Wilson. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Burton Elliott.

Mrs. Elliott was a cosmetologist for 25 year,s most recently having been employed by Great Clips until her retirement due to ill health. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Hudson, N.C. and attended West Concord Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading and cross-stitching.

Survivors include her husband of 44 years, Robert O. Elliott Sr. of the home; a son, Robert O. Elliott Jr. and wife Christina of Hudson; two daughters, Sherrie E. Thompson and husband Rick of China Grove and Terrie E. Driver and husband Mickey of Hudson and nine grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Thursday, May 8, 2008 at 3 p.m. at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel with the Rev. Mike Farley officiating. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis, N.C.

The family will receive friends Thursday, May 8, 2008 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Whitley's Funeral Home.
