J.R. White
Mr. J.R. White, 76, formerly of the Bethlehem community, died Thursday May 1, 2008 after a period of declining health at the home of his daughter. He was born October 26, 1931 in Caldwell County to the late Lewis White and Dora Bryant White. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers, Talley, W.L., Roy, Boyd, Charlie and Ralph White. Mr. White was a retired fireman from the Bethlehem Fire Department. He was the owner and operator of Hickory Septic Tank Service for over 50 years. He is survived by his loving wife, Louise Combs White of the home; a son, Kenneth White and wife Diane of Hickory; a daughter, Becky Fox and husband Loyd; a grandson, Dalton White; a granddaughter, Riva Fox; a brother, Johnny White of Granite Falls and a sister, Wavern White of Granite Falls. The funeral service for Mr. White will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 4, 2008 at Oak Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Wayne White officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. At other times, the family will receive friends at the home of his daughter Becky Fox.
