Gregory Cornett

Gregory Lee Fowler Cornett, 31, formerly of Hudson, passed away at his residence in Tampa, Fla., on April 26, 2008.

He was born July 9, 1976, in Catawba County to Jack W. Cornett of Hudson and Pamela V. Fowler of Lenoir. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother and grandfather, Nola Cornett and Barman Cornett; his maternal grandfather, Levi C. Vannoy Sr.; and also his paternal grandfather, John E. Fowler Sr.; and maternal grandfather, Gerald Aull.

Survivors include his father, Jack Cornett and wife Shirley; his mother, Pamela Fowler and husband John; brothers Allen Cornett, Michael Cornett and wife Marty; sisters Michelle Smith and husband John, Kim Robbins and husband Charles, Beverly Jones and husband Mark, Teresa Herold and husband Todd; brother, Michael Harrison and wife Tonya; sisters Beverly Philyaw and husband Raymond, Jeannie Rich, Jessica Fowler; maternal grandmother Merita Vannoy; paternal grandmother, Lona Bell Fowler; and maternal grandmother Hortense Aull; nine nephews and 12 nieces.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, May 3, 2008, at 4:30 p.m., at Bass-Smith Granite Chapel with the the Rev. Todd Herold officiating.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 4:30 p.m. at Bass Smith Granite Funeral Service.

Serving as pallbearers will be his friends, Clint Rominger, Brad Buttkey, Michael Austin, Michael Sheets, Darrin Dula and Chris Annas.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the funeral expenses for Gregory L. Cornett in care of Bass-Smith Granite Funeral Service, P.O. Box 1063, Granite Falls, NC 28630.
