Rosa Dula
Mrs. Rosa Lee Forney Dula, of 1473 Virginia St. SW, Lenoir, NC, died April 24, 2008, at Gateway Nursing Center after an extended illness. She was born in Statesville, N.C., a daughter of the late Wilson Ervin Forney Sr. and the late Hattie Lee Corpening Forney. Mrs. Dula was a graduate of A&T University in Greensboro, N.C. She was a member of St. Paul AME Church where she was a former member of the Stewardess Board #2, a member of the Chancel choir, a greeter and a Sunday School teacher. She was retired from Burlington Industries as a textile worker and was a former member and the first director of the Dulatown Outreach Center Day Care. She also was a member of the Caldwell Senior Citizens Choir, volunteer at the Caldwell County Heritage Museum and a substitute school teacher for the Caldwell County Schools. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Lucille F. Gee; and brother, Wilson Forney Jr. Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Harold W. Dula of the home, daughter Leslie D. McKesson (George N. McKesson Jr.) of Morganton, N.C.; sisters, Lois F. Dula and Helen F. Dula (Ted), both of Lenoir, N.C.; grandsons, Alton Michaux of Marion, N.C., Johnathon Michaux of Morganton, N.C.; granddaughters, Meredith Michaux and Griffin Michaux, both of Morganton, N.C.; great-grandsons, Jaylin Michaux and Keysean Michaux, both of Morganton, N.C.; great-granddaughter, Lyric Michaux of Morganton, N.C.; and special friend, Louella C. Kincaid of Lenoir, N.C., along with a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be today at 2 p.m. at St. Paul AME Church, conducted by the Rev. W.L. Howell, the Rev. Jacqueline Alexander, the Rev. George Logan, the Rev. Willis Camp III, the Rev. Rupert Ferguson, Evangelist Howard Lee Patterson and the Rev. Dr. Venoy Pearson. Burial will follow at Dulatown Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends today from 1-1:55 p.m. at the church. Online condolences may be placed at em2ebony@netzero.net.
