Betty Hood
Betty Jean Hood, 57, of Lenoir Healthcare Center, went home to be with her Lord Thursday, April 24, 2008, at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care. Mrs. Hood was born June 6, 1950, in Caldwell County to the late James and Nannie Corpening Hood. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by seven brothers; and her sisters, Hattie Hood and Mabel Hood Ferguson. She was a member of Hoods Chapel. Survivors include her sisters, Gladys Hood White, Jessie Hood Horton, Charlotte Joe Hood and Grace Hood Ferguson, all of Lenoir. Services for Ms. Hood will be Sunday, April 27 at 3 p.m. at Hoods Chapel United Church of God with Bishop Philmore Hester and Pastor Michael Sloan officiating. Burial will follow in Hoods Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:30 to 3 p.m. prior to the service. The family also will receive friends at the home of Gladys White at 2083 Tate Place, Lenoir. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care at 902 Kirkwood St. NW Lenoir NC 28645, or Hoods Chapel United Church of God at 1695 Hoods Creek Road, Lenoir, NC 28645.
