2008 All-County Swimming Team
€ Gray Beane, HHS Sophomore finished sixth in the 200 freestyle and sixth in the 500 freestyle at states. Was a member of the record-breaking 400 freestyle relay team. Swam on second-place 400 freestyle relay team.
€ Amanda Bolick, SCHS Freshman was named to second-team all-conference in 100 butterfly, 200 medley and 200 freestyle events. Was top-five finisher in 100 freestyle at conference meet.
€ Stephen Bottoms, HHS Senior finished third in the 50 freestyle and second in the 100 freestyle at state competition. Also swam a leg in the two record-breaking, first-place relay teams.
€ Kevin Chuang, HHS Senior finished 12th in the 200 individual medley and 19th in the 100 freestyle at the state competition. Swam a leg on the record-breaking 200 medley relay team and second-place 400 freestyle relay team.
€ Nathan Diehl, SCHS Swam best time in 200 individual medley event at conference meet, and contributed honorable mention swim in 100 breaststroke. Also swam breaststroke leg of 200 medley relay.
€ Lauren Duffy, SCHS Junior had top-10 finishes in 200 freestyle and 100 butterfly events. Earned honorable mention for swim in 100 butterfly, and contributed leg of 400 freestyle relay team.
€ Lindsey Duffy, SCHS Junior had two top-seven finishes in the butterfly and backstroke events at conference meet.
€ Ted Esch, HHS Junior finished the regular season undefeated in conference swims for the third straight year. Took second place in the 100-meter butterfly and second in the 500 freestyle at the state competition. Also a member of two record-breaking relay teams at states.
€ Elizabeth Gantt, HHS Finished 12th in 100 breaststroke at state competition. Member of 200 medley and 200 freestyle relays at states.
€ Megan Hamel, HHS Finished 13th in 100 backstroke at state competition. Also swam leg of 200 medley and 200 freestyle relays at states.
€ Chris Johnson, SCHS Junior contributed two top-six finishes in distance freestyle events at conference meets.
€ Jennifer Johnson, SCHS Versatile senior had top-six finishes in 200 individual medley and 500 freestyle at Northwestern conference meet. Helped lead South to third-place finish in 400 freestyle relay.
€ Johnny Lok, SCHS Sophomore named to first-team all-conference in 200 individual medley and 100 breaststroke events. Placed in top 10 at Western 4-A Regionals in 100 freestyle and 200 individual medley. Also swam on 200 medley and 400 freestyle relay teams that received honorable mention honors.
€ Matt Mackie, SCHS Senior contributed top five finishes in the sprint freestyle events at the Northwestern conference meets. Member of 200 medley and 400 freestyle relay teams that garnered honorable mentions in conference awards.
€ Bree Nidds, HHS Finished 18th in the 50 freestyle and 19th in the 100 freestyle at state competition. Member of 200 medley and 200 freestyle relays at states.
€ Devan Schreiber, HHS Finished 17th in 500 freestyle event at state competition. Took sixth in 200 freestyle and 500 freestyle in CVAC meet. Was member of two top-11 relay teams at states.
€ Carson Shields, SCHS Swam to top-five finish in 200 freestyle at conference meet. Helped Spartans place third in 400 freestyle relay at conference.
€ Lindsey Sherrill, SCHS Junior had top-five finish in 100 freestyle events. Named to second-team all-conference for 200 medley relay swim. Also part of 400 freestyle relay.
€ Travis Toliver, HHS Freshman finished 18th in the 200 freestyle and 20th in the 100 back stroke at states. Swam on second-place 400 freestyle relay team.
€ Mitch Vapniarek, HHS Freshman finished 30th in 500 freestyle at states. Took seventh in conference in same event.
€ Jake Washburn, HHS: Sophomore finished 12th in the 200 freestyle and sixth in the 500 freestyle at states. Also swam on second-place 400 freestyle relay team.
