2008 All-County Wrestling Team
€ Michael Chapman, SChs A state qualifier, went 17-10 in his sophomore season. Competed at 130 pounds. € Jordan Fisher, HHS A senior state qualifier in his third year wrestling, finished with a 42-13 record one year after being named the school's most improved wrestler. Competed at 130 pounds. € Cody Hampton, SChs Wrestling at 112 pounds, went 34-5 and won the Northwestern conference title. Qualified for regionals. € Scott Hardiman, HHS Became the first freshman in Hibriten history to win a regional title. Finished the season with a 46-12 record, setting the wins record for Panther freshmen. Wrestled at 119 pounds. Was fifth at 1-A/2-A state tournament. € Scott Harmon, SCHS Competing in the heavyweight division, went 33-6 as a senior. Qualfied for states and won two matches. € Jon Hartley, SCHS A junior, won 31 of his 43 matches competing in the 171-pound class. Qualified for the state tournament and won one match there. € C.J. Hood, WCHS Was 30-15 as a senior at 215 pounds. Had a pair of third-place finishes in the New Year's Brawl and Eagle Invitational. Finished fourth in the CVAC and qualified for regionals. € Tommy Huskey, SCHS A senior, won 40 of 49 matches at 119 pounds. Won one match in the 4-A state tournament. € Johnny Lefevers, HHS Eclipsed the 100-win mark for his career as a senior at 112 pounds. Set a school record for wins in a season with a 49-7 mark. Finished second at regionals and third in the state tournament. € Davonique Nelson, Hhs A four-year starter, qualified for states as a senior in the 152-pound class. Won 36 of his 48 matches. € Jesse Nelson, SCHS Finished fourth in the state at 160 pounds as a senior. Won a Northwestern conference title and posted a 49-8 record. € Zoi Ouellette, Hhs A sophomore wrestling at 215 pounds, posted a 45-7 record en route to a third place finish at the state tournament. Four of his losses came to a state champion. € Josh Philyaw, WChs Won 20 matches as a senior competing in the 145 and 152 weight classes. Was fourth in the CVAC and a regional qualifier. Also earned fourth at Eastern Alamance's Eagle Invitational. € Dustin Potter, SCHS Became the first Spartan to qualify for the state tournament for four straight years. Posted a record of 45-6 as a senior and finished fourth in the state. A Northwestern conference champion at 145 pounds, he won 151 matches in his career, a South Caldwell record. € Jake Smith, HHS Defeated two state champions and wrestled anywhere in the lineup from 160 to 189 pounds. Finished the season with a 30-19 record. € Treigh Triplett, WCHS Wrestled at 125 and 130 pounds and won 23 matches as a junior. Qualified for regionals and finished fourth in the CVAC. € Richie Watson, SCHS Won one match in the state tournament for 140-pounders. Was 39-15 in his senior campaign. € Shane Wood, WCHS Won the New Year's Brawl title (Hopewell High) and finished 36-12 as a senior at 160 pounds. Also had a runner-up finish at the Eagle Invitational. Was fourth in the CVAC and a regional qualifier.
