Lenoir hires new head of downtown development
A woman who has taught economics and political science in Italy has been named downtown development director for the city of Lenoir
Kaylynn Horn, who since 2005 has worked as a professor in economics and political science at the University of Trieste, in Trieste, Italy, will begin her new position May 27, City Manager Lane Bailey announced.
“Kaylynn brings a combination of education, experience and personality to effectively manage our Main Street program of downtown revitalization," Bailey said. "I had a chance to see the quality of her work last fall when she worked with the Chamber of Commerce on The Bridge cycling event. She will be a wonderful addition to our management team.”
Horn has also been a small business owner in Trieste, helped develop local business leaders for success in international business there and has served as assistant director of alumni affairs at Appalachian State University, where she earned her master's degree. Horn received her bachelor's degree at the University of South Florida.
