Griffin began his teaching career and athletic coaching experience in Caldwell County in 1996. From 1997 to 2004, he served as a PE teacher combined with a number of coaching positions at West Caldwell High School. In 2004 he was promoted to assistant principal.

The inclement weather location will be the old Lenoir High School auditorium. | Saturday, Aug. 23 | | The Caldwell Prison Ministry Inc. annual golf tournament will be Saturday, Aug. 23 at Orchard Hills Golf Course on Connelly Springs Road. The early-bird entry fee before Aug. 15 is $40 per person or $160 a team (four players). Registration fees after Aug. 15 are $50/person and $200/team. The final registration for teams is Aug. 19. A captain's choice format will be used. Mulligans are $5 each with a limit of four per team. The cost will include greens and cart fees, complimentary refreshments, sausage biscuits for breakfast and lunch provided by A.J.'s Prime Sirloin Steakhouse of Lenoir. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top finishing teams, and there will be prizes for longest drives and closest to the pin. | Friday, Sept. 5 | | The Caldwell Arts Council will host the 23rd annual Sculpture Celebration at the J.E. Broyhill Park in downtown Lenoir Sept. 5-6. On Friday, Sept. 5, peers, patrons, artists and Judge Robert Ebendorf will gather for a dinner and live music, followed by a slide show of the judge's work. The public is invited to participate in this opening party and to enjoy dinner with the artists.
