Man accused of stabbing friend with pocketknife
A man stabbed multiple times with a pocketknife was flown to Carolinas Medical Center on Monday, and the man who police believe attacked him was in jail.
Charles Leroy Davidson Jr., of Lenoir, was at the home of Sammy William Sturgill at Conley Place in Lenoir early Monday morning when police say the two got into a fight. Davidson, 39, was stabbed several times, according to a report filed with Lenoir police.
Sturgill, 48, was charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, inflicting serious injury. His bond was set at $100,000 secured.
Information about Davidson's condition was not available.
Sturgill previously was convicted in November 1987 in Caldwell County of second-degree murder.
