Bond revoked for former Foothills airport official
The former operations manager of Foothills Regional Airport who pleaded guilty to charges of conspiracy and embezzlement in September 2012 is back in jail.
Brad Adkins has been out of jail awaiting sentencing. His bond was revoked Feb. 7, but the reason was not clear because the record was sealed, the Hickory Daily Record reported. The McDowell County Jail confirmed Thursday that Adkins is being held there.
Adkins is scheduled to be sentened Feb. 25 at the federal courthouse in Asheville. He faces a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison.
Alex Nelson, former airport manager, also pleaded guilty in September 2012 to charges of embezzling, conspiracy and money laundering. He also is to be sentenced Feb. 25, facing a maximum of 35 years.
Randy Hullette, former chairman of the board of Foothills Regional Airport, pleaded guilty to embezzlement and witness tampering Aug. 21, 2013. He faces a maximum sentence of 10 years for embezzlement and maximum sentence 20 years for witness tampering. His sentencing hearing has not been set.
