Boil-water advisory partially lifted

Caldwell County and Lenoir advise that the boil-water advisory is lifted for residents who pay their water bill to Lenoir.

But water tests from some parts of the system where water lines were not flushed until late Wednesday are not complete, so the county says that residents who pay their bill to Caldwell County are asked to continue to adhere to the water use advisory.

Baton and Sawmills water officials tell the News-Topic that their water is fine and there is no need to boil.

Granite Falls has an entirely separate water system and was never under the boil advisory.

An earlier post on incorrectly reported that the boil-water advisory had been lifted for all water customers. The News-Topic was in error.
