Caldwell County issued the following announcement shortly after 10:30 a.m.:

The Water Use Advisory currently in place for Caldwell County water customers is rescinded as of 10:30 a.m. Friday as all water tests results show the water is safe.

Based on laboratory results of water samples taken throughout the County on Wednesday and Thursday, all county water is safe for regular use and consumption.

Caldwell County appreciates the cooperation of the citizens and once again apologizes for any inconvenience this situation has caused.

Caldwell County Emergency Services is once again reminding citizens to sign up for the Caldwell County CodeRED Emergency Notification system to be notified in the future of emergency situations. Citizens can go to and click on the CodeRED link on the front page to sign up. If they do not have Internet access, they can call 828-757-1419 to sign up as well.

The Water Use Advisory was issued after a 24-inch City of Lenoir main water line was damaged by crews laying fiber optic cable at the intersection of Andrews Circle on the Connelly Springs Road on Tuesday.
