Collettsville man on four-wheeler hurt in collision with pickup truck
Tony Gragg was riding a four-wheeler in the Collettsville School parking lot on Friday when he looked up and saw he was about to collide with a truck.
“I was coming around the curve, and I looked up, and we hit head-on,” Gragg said.
Gragg, 20, was on his way back to his grandparents’ house on Collettsville School Road and was going about 45 mph on a portion of the school lot that essentially is a driveway when he collided with a Ford F-250, Highway Patrol Trooper M.J. Pennington said.
Upon impact, Gragg flew 20 to 25 feet, and the four-wheeler bounced and landed away from the truck, Pennington said.
Gragg was flown to Johnson City Medical Center in Johnson City, Tenn., and is being treated there for a broken leg, broken pelvic bone and shattered wrist.
The driver of the F-250 was not injured.
Gragg said the details of the collision are foggy, but he remembers the basics.
“It was painful,” he said. “I know that.”
