Tawana Sparks and Jared Pardue arrested on meth charges
The Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office arrested two on charges of trafficking methamphetamine on Friday, according to an arrest report from the sheriff’s office.
Tawana Mae Sparks, 31, of Hudson and Jared William Pardue, 33, of Zionville both face felony charges of trafficking in methamphetamine by transportation and maintaining a vehicle to keep or store a controlled substance, according to the report.
Sparks’ bond was set at $101,000 and Pardue’s was set at $150,000.
The arrests were the result of a month-long investigation into a drug trafficking ring, WCNC in Charlotte reported. Investigators learned both suspects were returning from a trip, and investigators believed the two had picked a new batch of methamphetamine. Officers stopped the two in Hudson on Friday while the K-9 unit conducted a search of their 1997 Acura, finding three-fourths of a pound of meth packed in bags and wrapped inside pillowcases and towels. Its total worth was more than $47,000, WCNC reported.
