Three arrested after house searched

Investigators arriving at a Granite Falls-area residence to arrest a man on drug charges also arrested another man who did not tell them the man they wanted was hiding inside, according to a press release from the Caldwell County Sheriff's Office.

Narcotics agents with the sheriff's office's Ice Unit went to serve an arrest warrant for Jarrod Alan Johnson, 36, of Hunters Path, Granite Falls, the press release said. As agents went to the front door, Kevin Lewis Greene, 41, of Eagles Nest Lane in Baton was there. Inside the house, agents found Johnson and Stephanie Denise Hammond, 21, of Lenoir.

Agents also found more than five grams of methamphetamine, a .40-caliber handgun and a digital weighing scale in the house, drug paraphernalia in Greene's possession, and a small amount of meth in Hammond's, the press release said.

Johnson was charged with two felony counts each of possession with intent to sell and deliver methamphetamine and of maintaining a vehicle or dwelling to keep a controlled substance. His bond was set at $100,000 secured.

Greene was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting, obstructing or delaying an officer, both misdemeanors. His bond was set at $5,000 secured.
