Sawmills town clerk resigns suddenly

Susan Nagle resigned from her position as the town clerk of Sawmills on Monday morning after working for the town for eight years.

Town Administrator Seth Eckard declined to comment on the reason for Nagle’s resignation. Nagle could not be reached for comment Wednesday.

Kimberly Trivette is temporarily replacing Nagle until a permanent candidate can be found for the full-time position, Town Eckard said. Trivette also serves as an office manager. Trivitte is only handling the responsibilities of attending town council meetings, preparing the meeting agendas and recording the minutes during those meetings. Eckard said that other town employees are filling for the other responsibilities where they can.

Eckard would prefer to fill the position internally and that the application process would take a week. If nothing comes of that search, external applications will be accepted.

“We wish (Nagle) well for her future endeavors,” Eckard said.
