Armed robbery suspect arrested
A man who police think robbed another man at gunpoint two weeks ago was arrested Saturday morning.
Lenoir police had been looking for 25-year-old Typhin Tremane Korrell Miles, of Wheeler St. NW, since Jan. 16 after 21-year-old Joshua O'Neil Dula, of Corpening Place, said a man climbed into the back seat of his car on Hill Street about 4 p.m. that day as he was texting on his cellphone, said Lenoir Police Lt. Daryl Cornett. Police believe Miles pointed a handgun at him, demanding money and his cellphone. Nine dollars in cash was taken from Dula. Police do not think the two knew each other.
Officers went to Miles' house Saturday just before 11 a.m. and arrested him. Miles was charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, and a $100,000 secured bond was set.
