Caldwell County Schools on another two-hour delay
The Caldwell County Schools are operating on a two-hour delay again today, due to the extreme cold.
The low this morning is expected to be close to 10 degrees -- warmer than the low of zero recorded at Foothills Regional Airport on Tuesday morning, but still dangerously frigid for children.
As they did on Monday, buses will run their usual routes and make the same stops, but drivers will blow the horns at each stop so children can remain in their homes. That may cause delays because the drivers have to wait for the children to come out and make it to the stop, community services director Libby Brown said.
"We ask that parents please be patient and just be watchful, because we feel it's important that students stay inside," Brown said.
