Michael Hardy, author, historian, and Civil War re-enactor, will be at the Caldwell Heritage Museum at 3 p.m. for short presentation and to sign his latest book, “Images of America: Grandfather Mountain.” There is no admission charge. The Blue Ridge Women in Agriculture Gathering 3-6 p.m. will focus on the care of dairy goats at Ripshin Goat Dairy, 1865 N.C. 268 in Happy Valley. Caldwell County Veterans Honor Guard will hold its monthly meeting and training with the Army National Guard on at 6:30 p.m. at the American Legion Post 392, 243 Legion Road in Hudson. All honorably discharged veterans who have an interest in participating in activities honoring veterans and the American Flag at special events and helping ensure all veterans who wish to receive a funeral with military honors to have their wish granted are invited. “What’s in a 19th-century carpenter’s tool chest?” is the topic for the 9:30 a.m. meeting of the Western Piedmont Woodcrafters Club meeting at Klingspor Woodworking, 856 21st St. Dr. SE, Hickory.
