New William Lenoir Middle School construction on track
The new William Lenoir Middle School construction is on schedule. Superintendent of Caldwell County Schools Steve Stone announced at the Education Foundation’s Board of Directors meeting on Tuesday that the plans are moving along smoothly and the opening for August 2015 is still the goal.
“We’re delighted the ground is almost completely leveled to where we need it to be,” Stone said.
Stone joked that you could see the familiar Carolina clay dust floating about if you drive near Hibriten High School where the school is located. He said that they have begun to move the construction traffic away from the high school to keep those lanes open for students, parents, faculty and staff.
“We anticipate some time in the middle of May to start laying concrete,” Stone said. “You should start seeing a lot of action going on over there. If you have not had the chance to go look at that, it’s moving along quite well.”
