Schools on three-hour delay

Morning temperatures were the main concern of Caldwell County Schools officials in their decision to put schools on a three-hour delay today.

While heavy, wet snow may be seen as you wake up this morning, expect a rapid freeze-up of water on roads as temperatures drop into the 20s overnight.“We’re not worried about accumulations, but temperature,” said Dr. Jeff Church, assistant superintendent for auxiliary services “If we can get students there, we will.”

Expect the first wave of buses to leave the garage between 8:30 and 8:45 a.m. for student pick-up, and the rest between 9:45 and 10 a.m.Students will not have to make up the time missed on Saturday or Martin Luther King Day.
