The new restrooms for Sawmills Veterans Park were ordered on Wednesday. CXT Inc. will ship the restrooms and install them within 90 days.

Town Administrator Seth Eckard said, "We've been waiting a long time for this moment."

The town council accepted CXT’s bid of $47,725.66 Tuesday night. The bid is less than the town budgeted for the restrooms, and the price includes the building, installation and shipping.

The building will have a men’s room and a ladies’s room, with two water fountains between the doors. The outer walls will be gray block, and it will have a blue metal roof.

Community member Reed Lingerfelt said he was overjoyed to see this project finally come to its last stage.

“Now, we’ve got something down there that’s going to be a benefit not only to the younger people, but the older people and the veterans and everybody,” Lingerfelt said. “When that thing comes down and is set down, I want to be down there.”
