A man suspected of selling drugs tried to get away from an Alcohol Law Enforcement agent Saturday but was chased down.

Agent Jonathan Marley received a tip about 4 p.m. Saturday that a man driving a green Chrysler sedan selling drugs outside the Gas and Go convenience store on Blowing Rock Boulevard north of Walmart, said Omar Qureshi, assistant special agent with the N.C. Department of Public Safety ALE Division. When Marley arrived, he saw a green Chrysler sedan leaving. Marley tried to get it to pull over, but the car went into Walmart parking lot, where Marley blocked it in, Qureshi said. The driver then jumped out of the car and ran. Marley chased him, tried to shoot him with his Taser and soon caught him.

Marley searched him and found 25 grams of marijuana, methamphetamine valued at $800, a small amount of heroin, some prescription pills, and an 1,800-volt stun gun.

Brian Keith Greene, 28, of Nuway Circle was charged with felony possession of methamphetamine, possession of a Schedule III controlled substance, possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance, possession of marijuana, driving while license revoked, careless and reckless driving, speeding to elude arrest and resisting an officer. His bond was set at $100,000 secured.
