Cajah’s Mountain is cleaning up... literally
In a continued effort to make Cajah’s Mountain’s town hall more hospitable and functional, interim town manager Jim Chandler urged the town council Tuesday to look at hiring regular cleaning services.
The issue arose at a meeting where the town council voted to hire Hatton’s Lawn Service in Lenoir for grounds maintenance for $3,195 for a year. The company will trim shrubbery, mow grass, seed the lawn and other services.
The council also approved Chandler looking into pricing and details of a cleaning service for the interior of the town hall. Chandler said that one of the offices has a problem with “tiny, little bugs” making themselves at home. Mayor Ronnie Setzer also pointed out that the carpet is in disrepair.
“This is an investment for the town,” Chandler said. “It’s something that everybody’s doing now.”
