Lenoir police are investigating a break-in at the Lenoir Aquatic and Fitness Center that occurred late Tuesday night.

A burglar alarm at the center, which is on Jim Barger Court, went off just after 11 p.m. When police arrived, they found that a glass window and a garage door had been damaged, along with a computer camera, cash register and safe. However, no money was removed from the safe or register, Capt. Brent Phelps said. The total cost of the damage was estimated at $2,100. Nothing appeared to have been stolen.

"We believe we may have scared them off," Phelps said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Lenoir/Caldwell Crime Stoppers at 828-758-8300.
