Hickory woman faces drug charges in Granite Falls
A Hickory woman wanted by Longview and Charlotte-Mecklenburg police was arrested Tuesday in Granite Falls on drug charges.
Shannon Leigh Powell, 31, of 22 22nd Ave. NW in Hickory was arrested by Caldwell County narcotics agents conducting a sting operation at the Bojangle's parking lot in Granite Falls on Tuesday, according to a press release issued by the Caldwell County Sheriff's Office. Investigators seized two baggies of methamphetamine worth an estimated $180, which Powell is accused of trying to sell.
Powell was charged with one count of felony possession with intent to sell or deliver methamphetamine. Powell also was served with warrants for felony possession with intent to sell or deliver methamphetamine and felony selling methamphetamine related to an arrest in Longview, where she is accused of selling methamphetamine, and felony larceny of a motor vehicle related to a car theft in Mecklenberg County.
