Elizabeth Honeycutt

Elizabeth Jenkins Honeycutt, 90, of Lenoir passed away June 13, 2013, at Caldwell Hospice & Palliative Care – Kirkwood.

Born in Caldwell County on Dec. 23, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Albert Jenkins and Mattie Mikeal Jenkins.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Honeycutt is also preceded in death by her husbands, George Honeycutt and Clarence Russell; five brothers, Jay, Ray, Hoover, Dallas and Sherrill Jenkins; three sisters, Estelle Suddreth, Mattie Whittington, Katherine Minton; and an infant sister.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Wilma Greene of Lenoir, Betty Hefner (Earl) of Conover, Jean Bristol (Paul Dishman) of Hudson, Barbara Greer of Lenoir, Jeanette Crotts (Danny) of Granite Falls, Elaine Nelson (Ken) of Collettesville, and Julia Dula (Tom) of Granite Falls; brothers, John Jenkins (Mable), Louie Jenkins, and Jim Jenkins; sisters, Janet Jarvis (Mack Jarvis), Jean Lewis, and Lillie Jenkins; 16 grandchildren ; 24 great grandchildren, and 13 great-great grandchildren. Also left to cherish her memory are numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.

Services honoring Mrs. Honeycutt’s life will be held Monday, June 17, 2013, at North Catawba Baptist Church at 4 p.m. with the Rev. Mack Jarvis III and the Rev. Doug St. John officiating. Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.

Serving as pallbearers will be, Keith Mull, Christopher Mull, Jason Kanupp, Kevin Minton, Rob Nelson, John Blair, J.D. Blair and Thomas Welch.

Lucas Seaboch

Lucas Odell Seaboch, the infant son of Kirsten DeBoer Seaboch and Dustin Odell Murphy, passed away on June 11, 2013.

In addition to his parents, Lucas is survived by his maternal grandparents, Scott and Laura DeBoer; and his paternal grandparents, Tatia Johnson and husband Tim, and Odell Murphy and wife Debbie. Lucas is also survived by numerous other relatives.

A memorial service for Lucas will be held on Sunday, June 16, 2013, at 4 p.m. in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service with Pastor Kenneth Poarch officiating.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 3 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home.

J.D. McGuire

J.D. McGuire, 79, of Auton Road, Lenoir, died Thursday, June 13, 2013, at Lenoir Healthcare Center. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Greer-McElveen Funeral Home and Crematory.

 

Mary Bradford

Marie “Kaye” Bradford, age 68, of Hudson, died Thursday, June 13, 2013. Memorial services will be held Sunday, June 16, 2013 at 3 p.m. at Berea Advent Christian Church. Visitation from 2 to 3 p.m.  Greer-McElveen Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.

 

James Griffin Jr.

James E. “Bud” Griffin, Jr., of Lenoir, died Friday, June 14, 2013 at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care – Hudson. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Greer-McElveen Funeral Home and Crematory.

 

Donna Knight


Donna Elaine Campbell Knight, 58, of Lenoir, passed away Thursday, June 13, 2013 at her residence.
 
Born November 9, 1954 in Caldwell County she was the daughter of Otha Campbell, who survives and the late Dorothy Buckner Campbell.
 
She will always be remembered as a loving wife, wonderful mother, and grandmother. Donna enjoyed traveling and camping.
 
Those left to cherish her memory along with her father are her loving husband, Jimmy Knight, of the home; two sons, Shane Jones and Brett Jones (Michele) all of Lenoir; one step-daughter, Lorie Stevens of Morganton; one brother, Bruce Campbell of Lenoir; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
 
Funeral services honoring Mrs. Knight will be held Monday, June 17, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Crestview Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Isaacs and Rev. Clifton Harmon officiating.   Burial will follow at Hollow Springs Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
 
The family will receive friends Sunday, June 16, 2013 at Pendry’s Funeral Home from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM.
 
Serving as pallbearers will be Rocky Banler, Tyler Jones, Chris Campbell, Charlie Campbell, Mickey Penley and David Price.
 
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society 500 Morehead Street Suite 211 Charlotte, NC 28202.
 
The family would like to express their appreciation to Mrs. Knight’s caregiver and aunt Dee Buckner and to the staff of Caldwell County Hospice & Palliative Care, and Catawba Medical Center Oncology Department for their love and care during Mrs. Knights’ illness.
