Lenoir police say man had drugs near school
Lenoir police arrested a man Wednesday after finding drugs in his apartment across the street from William Lenoir Middle School, according to a press release issued late Friday afternoon.
After a four-month investigation of community complaints about drug use, officers executed a search warrant Wednesday at an apartment at 323 Harrington St. and found 46.8 grams of crack cocaine and 6.7 grams of marijuana, the press release said. The cocaine had an estimated value of more than $9,300.
Joshua Samuel Wright, 24, was charged with trafficking in cocaine by possession, trafficking in cocaine by manufacture, possession with intent to manufacture, sell/deliver a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school, manufacture of cocaine, maintaining a dwelling for the use, storage or sale of a controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of marijuana.
