12 arrested on felony drug charges in Caldwell County round-up

A nearly year-long drug investigation culminated in the arrests of 12 people who police say were dealing pot, methamphetamines and illegal prescription pills.

According to the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office,

Agents with the Caldwell County Sheriff's Office's Ice Unit, which handles undercover drug investigations, began making arrests Tuesday, officials said. Some turned themselves in, others were taken from their homes or workplace. The suspects were wanted for a combined total of 45 felony offenses, including possession, sales or distribution, and maintaining illegal narcotics in Caldwell County.

During the operation, investigators bought or seized more than three pounds of marijuana, 203 illegal prescription pills, 1.5 grams of meth, a firearm, $800 in cash, and drug-packaging and -weighing paraphernalia. The total street value of the drugs seized was estimated at $17,303.

The Granite Falls Police Department assisted in the suspect round-up. Still being sought Friday were Paul Douglas Whitt, 32, and Chasity Dawn Blevins, 22. A cash reward is offered to anyone with information leading to their arrests.

Denny Lee Dula, 25, of 1015 Ogborn Lane, Apt. 2B in Hudson; Dennis Ray Stillwell, 52, of 2225 Stilwell Lane in Granite Falls; Kayla Danielle Poovey, 22, of 111 Winwood Circle in Granite Falls; April Marie Cogdell, 27, of 1015 Ogborn Lane Apt. 2B in Hudson; Brian Dewynne Smith, 27, of 147H Bethel Road in Morganton; Paul Thomas Marsh, 42, of 2704 Lyndsey Lane in Lenoir; Lisa Nicole Hall, 21, of 103 Hickory Street in Rhodhiss; David Grover Wilson, 39, of 2505 Michael Court in Hudson; James Anthony Williams, 38, of 2476 Walnut Drive in Lenoir; Tracy Lynn Kaylor, 43, of 2464 Chester Road in Lenoir; Megan Leigh Nichols, 25, of 1507 Dellwood Drive in Lenoir; and Amanda Cherelle Kaylor, 28, of 2464 Chester Road in Lenoir.
