Lenoir man convicted on drug, weapons charges
A Lenoir man was convicted on weapons charges Monday stemming a 2012 shooting in a dispute over money, and he also was convicted of unrelated drug charges.
Dustin Tevin Horton, 21, of Conley Place was arrested in Lenoir in June 2012 after he got in an argument with 22-year-old Allen Audrey and chased Audrey while firing a handgun several time, police said. Audrey was shot once in his right forearm. The Hill Street residence of 24-year-old Cetera Horton was also hit by gunfire, but Cetera Horton was not injured.
Dustin Horton was indicted in September 2013 on drug possesion charges stemming from a traffic stop. Lenoir police said officers searched his car and found cocaine.
Dustin Horton pleaded guilty Monday in Caldwell Superior Court to four felonies: assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, discharging a weapon into occupied property, cocaine sales and cocaine possession. He was sentenced to 37 to 57 months in prison.
