Two arrested on drug charges
Two people were arrested on drug charges in recent days in separate investigations by the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office.
The department’s Ice Unit and Granite Falls police were investigating Jonathan Ray Randles, 37, of 10th St. SW in Hickory after a tip about crack cocaine coming to the Granite Falls area, according to a press release from the sheriff’s office. On April 9, Randles was seen by narcotics agents on Pinewood Road in Granite Falls, was stopped and searched by a uniformed Ice Unit officer, who found 28 grams of crack with a street value of $5,620, the press release said
Randles was charged with felony trafficking in cocaine by possession and felony trafficking in cocaine by transportation, and his bond was set at $50,000 secured.
On Wednesday, Melisa Diana Triplett, 35, of Trackside Way in Hudson was arrested by the Ice Unit after she was seen in Sawmills trying to sell Oxycodone pills, the press release. Triplett did not have a prescription for the pills, were found in a cigarette pack in her 2005 GMC truck and had a street value of $340, a press release said. Triplett was charged with felony possession with intent to sell and deliver Oxycodone and felony maintaining a vehicle to keep or store a controlled substance. Triplett’s bond was set at $5,000 secured.
