Anthony “Tony” Howard Gragg, 62, of Lenoir passed away Thursday, July 31, 2014, at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care in Lenoir.
Tony is the son of Homer M. Gragg and Fushia Clarke Gragg of Lenoir. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brother, Kevin M. Gragg and wife Susan of Lehigh Acres, Fla.; his sister, Denise Ryer and husband Jerry of Montevideo, Minn.; nephews, Leif Paulson and wife Sueann of Montevideo, Minn., and Tommy Gallager; nieces, April King and husband Grant of Willmar, Minn., and Amanda Breen and husband Patrick; great-nephews, Kevin Soine of Willmar, Minn., J.C., Jacob and Kristian Paulson of Montevideo, Minn., Emmett Breen, Thomas Gallagher and Damien Foster; great-nieces, Kiera and Cienna Paulson of Montevideo, Minn.; his aunt Evelyn VanDerLike of Ocala, Fla., and his special aunt Margaret Hartley, and many more special family.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Charles and Emma Wilson Clark, and his paternal grandparents, Neal and Minnie Rich Holder and Howard M. Gragg, and his uncle Ray Gragg.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Confidence Advent Christian Church with the Rev. Norm Sherwood officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church Monday, Aug. 4, 2014, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Leroy “Lee” Franklin Miller, 69, passed away on July 30, 2014, at his residence.

Entered into rest Thursday, July 31, 2014, Mr. Johnny M. Teague, 68.
Mr. Teague was a native of Lenoir, but was living in Martinez, Ga. He was a lifelong electrician for IBEW. Mr. Teague served in the United States Navy and was a Veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a great father and grandfather.
Family members include sons, Darren Teague of Martinez, Ga., Randy Greene (Trixie) of Douglasville, Ga., and Jody Greene of Lincolnton, Ga.; grandchildren, Tristan, Daniel, Jacob and Kenzlei; mother, Lyda Teague; siste,r Ann Byrd; brother, the Rev. Gary Teague; and best friend Al Wedereit. Mr. Teague was preceded in death by his father, John Teague.
A funeral service will be Monday, Aug. 4, 2014, at 1 p.m. at Grace Baptist Church with Pastor Bill Hilley officiating. Interment will follow in Westover Memorial Park.

Ellen Beane Truett, 58, went home to be with her Lord on Friday, Aug. 1, 2014, at Caldwell Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Burke County on Sept. 1, 1955, to C.W. and Jean Beane. She was married to Randy Truett of the residence.
Ellen was a loving wife, mother, Nana, and daughter. She was a member of Dry Ponds Baptist Church. Ellen was preceded in death by her grandparents, Clyde and Madelyn Deal and O.P. and Edna Beane. In addition to her husband and parents she was survived by her daughter, Carri Walker and husband Jerome; son, Shaun Patton and wife Elizabeth; grandchildren, Abby, Sarah and John Walker; Caitlyn, Austin and Devan Patton; and Ellen was looking forward to the birth of her grandson, Logen; and father, mother and brother-in-law, Bob, Margaret and Rocky Truett.
A celebration of Ellen’s life will be held at Dry Ponds Baptist Church on Monday, Aug. 4, 2014, at 6 p.m. with Pastor Rick Crouse and Pastor Josh Dellinger officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 until 6 p.m. prior to the service.

Phillip Manny Lanzorotto, 81, of Hudson passed away Friday Aug. 1, 2014, at the Shaire Center in Lenoir. No services are scheduled at this time.

Melvin Harbison, 70, of Valdese passed away Tuesday, July 29, 2014.
Funeral services will be at noon Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2014, at Mount Zion Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends 11 to 11:55 a.m. at the church.
Julia Claire Carlton, 67, of Lenoir passed away Thursday, July 31, 2014, at Lenoir HealthCare.
Miss Carlton was born in Caldwell County on Jan. 23, 1947, to the late George S. Carlton and Ruby Beach Carlton. Miss Carlton worked for 20 years as a nurse and was a member of Kings Creek Baptist Church. She also enjoyed photography and cats, often combining the two with prize winning results.
In addition to her parents, Miss Carlton is preceded in death by a brother James D. Carlton.
Those left to cherish the memory of Julia Carlton include two nieces, Jo Carlton (John McClurkin) of New Bern, and Daphne Taylor (Dennis) of Lynchburg, Va.; two nephews, Phil Carlton (Maria) of Charlottesville, Va., and Rob Carlton (Donna) of Evington, Va.; a sister-in-law, Dawn Carlton of Lynchburg, Va.; and numerous other relatives.
The family of Miss Julia Carlton will receive friends at Pendry’s Lenoir Funeral Home on Sunday, Aug. 3, 2014, from 4-6 p.m. Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 4, 2014, at Kings Creek Baptist Church in Lenoir with Pastor Randy Goode officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service in the church cemetery.
