Brenda Watts Conway passed away Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014, at Agape Hospice House in Lexington, S.C. Married to the late Thomas Conway Sr., she was born Jan. 13, 1943, to the late D.A. and Ethel Watts. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Sue Watts (Wade) Wilmoth.
A memorial celebrating her life was held at Oakwood Baptist Church, Lexington, S.C., on Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014, with the Rev. Rich Wilson officiating.
A native of Lenoir, Brenda retired from the Presbyterian Home in Lexington, S.C., where she was a certified nursing assistant and activities director for many years. Her passion for helping others showed through her work in Sunday School and her work with children's groups. She was awarded the AWANA Commander's Faith Award in 2005 for timeless devotion and faith to the AWANA ministry at Oakwood Baptist Church.
Brenda is survived by three children, Leslie (Clifton) Block of Claremont, Michael (Wanda) Conway of Maiden, and Tommy (Tonya) Conway of Lexington, S.C.; and seven grandchildren. Also surviving are one brother, Ralph Watts, sister Christine (Ronald) Beane of Lenoir and sister Jean (Charlie) Czermak of Boone.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Humane Society.
Sandra Petrea Smith, 64, of Taylorsville died Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014.
She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Lynn Smith; daughters, Michelle T. Sigmon and husband Scott of Taylorsville, and Melanie Smith of Gastonia; and one grandson, Louis Smith of Gastonia.
Allie “Inez” Morgan, 72, of Connelly Springs and formally of Marion passed away Friday, Feb. 7, 2014, at her residence with her loving family and friends by her side. A native of McDowell County, she was born June 29, 1941, to the late Claude and Elsie Cuthbertson Morgan. Inez is also preceded in death by one brother, James Morgan.
She is survived by one brother, Jack Morgan and his wife, Marian, of Newport News, Va.; her loving caregivers, Nicky and Shelia Carswell of Connelly Springs; four nephews; and numerous friends.
The family received friends on Sunday, Feb. 9, 2014, at Westmoreland Funeral Home.
A funeral service for Inez was held Monday, Feb. 10, 2014, in the Chapel of Westmoreland Funeral Home with the Rev. Kent Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.

Bruce Smith, 79, of Collettsville passed away Monday, Feb. 10, 2014, at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care in Lenoir. Born Feb. 3, 1935, in Toccoa, Ga., he was a son of the late Riley and Ethel Gosnell Smith.
He was retired from the City of Toccoa working with the street department and enjoyed tinkering with old cars.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Ann Vinson Smith; a daughter, Patricia Lee Smith Webb Regan; and his brother, John Terrell Smith.
He is survived by his daughter, Peggy Smith and husband Michael of Collettsville; four grandchildren, Jennifer Gosnell Gray, Adam Gosnell, Brandy Gosnell, and Amanda Webb Brishop; ten great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
