Margaret Sue “Susie” Barrier, 72, passed away peacefully at Wesley Long Hospital in Greensboro on Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014, with her family at her side.
A Memorial Service celebrating her life will be held 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 10, 2014, at Whitestone Masonic and Eastern Star Home Chapel with the Rev. Rick Carter and Chaplain Tommy Jones officiating. The family will meet with friends after the service. A private burial will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014, at Blue Ridge Memorial Park in Lenoir with Dr. John Fowler officiating.
A native of Lenoir, Susie was born April 7, 1941. She was preceded in death by her parents, Margaret and Wade Barrier, and brother Gene Barrier. She is survived by her brother Jack Barrier and wife Barbara of Kernersville, and sister-in-law Jean Barrier of Lenoir.
Susie spent most of her life in Lenoir, under the loving care of her mother until her mother’s death in 2002. At that time, she became a resident of the Masonic and Eastern Star Home in Greensboro. During the past 11½ years, she has been blessed with the wonderful care of the home and friendships from the residents and staff. The family expresses sincere gratitude to Susie’s Special Angels, Ginger and Joyce.
Susie always displayed a tremendous Christian faith and as a result, her life was filled with a strong commitment and love for her fellow man.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Wesley Long who cared for Susie.

Judith Ann Crowder Jones
Judith Ann Crowder Jones, 69, of Morganton passed away Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014. A memorial service will be held Monday, Feb. 10, at 1 p.m. at New Day Christian Church. Family will receive friends 30 minutes before the service at the church.

Christine Friesland Kincaid, 76, of Lenoir passed away Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014, at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care in Lenoir. Born March 3, 1937, in Watauga County, Mrs. Kincaid was a daughter of the late Tom and Mae Cornett Friesland and the wife of the late George “Bud” Kincaid.
Other than her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Charlene Friesland and Alma Miller, and three brothers, Earl Cornett, Bobby Friesland and Tommy Friesland.
She is survived by her two children, Buddy Kincaid and wife Sandy, and Paula Dellinger and husband Rusty; one sister, Geraldine Henson and husband James; one brother, John Friesland and wife Lynda; five grandchildren, Chad Kincaid, Casey Kincaid, Cody Kincaid, Ethan Dellinger, Luke Dellinger; one great-grandchild, Zachary Kincaid; and other nieces, nephews and relatives.
A Graveside Service will be conducted Sunday, Feb. 9, 2014, at 2:30 p.m. in the Littlejohn United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Allen Bolick officiating.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1:30 until 2:30 in the Sanctuary of Littlejohn United Methodist Church.

David Mack Livingston Sr., 82, of Lenoir died Friday, Feb. 7, 2014, at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care-Lenoir. He was born Oct. 22, 1931, in Greene County, Tenn., to the late Sam and Orpha Jarrell Livingston. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Jane Anne Conway Livingston; and nine siblings.
Mr. Livingston was a Senior Manager for Singer Furniture and was a member of First Baptist Church of Lenoir since 1970. He was a dedicated volunteer for Caldwell County Habitat for Humanity.
Survivors include three sons, David Livingston Jr. of Lenoir, Joe Livingston of McKinney, Texas, and Ken Livingston and wife Renee’ of Statesville; one sister, Jennie Ruth Allred of Seymour, Tenn.; three grandchildren, Patrick Livingston, Sabrina Livingston and Julie Snaer; and one great-granddaughter, Hayli Snaer.
Memorial services will be held Monday, Feb. 10, 2014, at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Lenoir conducted by Dr. David Smith.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. one hour prior to the service at the church.

Sandra Petrea Smith, 64, of Taylorsville went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014, at her home with her family by her side.
Services will be held on Sunday, Feb. 9, 2014, at 3 p.m. at Antioch Baptist Church.
