Eddie Baxter Hood, 46, of Lenoir passed away on Dec. 27, 2013, at his home.
Born Dec. 26, 1967, he was a son of J.B and Violet Marie Mitchell Hood. Eddie had worked in furniture manufacturing and loved working on cars. He enjoyed hunting and playing horseshoes. He was preceded in death by a sister, Brenda Wolfe.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a brother, John Hood and wife Deborah of Lenoir; two sisters, Kathy Hollingsworth, and Wanda Winebarger and husband Bynum, both of Lenoir; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A celebration of Eddie’s life will be held on Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014, in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service at 5 p.m. with Pastor Tim Elliott officiating.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Alexis Shiann Phillips, 18, of Hudson passed away Saturday, Dec. 28, 2013, in Lebanon, Tenn., from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time and will be announced by Pendry’s Lenoir Funeral Home.
Sylvia Jane Walton Gonzalez, 81, of Harrisburg, Pa., died Sunday, Dec. 22, 2013.

Tracy Alan Conley, 53, of Morganton died Thursday, Dec. 26, 2013. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2013, at New Hope In Christ Baptist Church.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, Dec. 31, from 2-2:55 p.m. before the worship service.
Fredrick “Dennis” Moore, 79, of Lenoir died Sunday, Dec. 29, 2013, at Camelot Manor Nursing. He was born July 30, 1934, in Caldwell County to the late Thomas and Mable Hartley Moore. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Dermont Moore; and one sister, Lucille Enloe.
Mr. Moore was retired from Thomasville Furniture and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include two sons, Terry Moore of Lenoir and Kenneth Moore of Granite Falls; one daughter, Kathleen Trivette and husband Michael of Granite Falls; two stepdaughters, Diane Hollar and husband Jerry of Lenoir, and Janice Shell and husband Johnny of Granite Falls; one sister, Patsy Rousakkis and husband John of Michigan; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2014, at 2 p.m. at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home Chapel conducted by the Rev. Edd Warren. Interment will follow at Coleman Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

Glenn “Paw Paw” Wright, born Jan. 30, 1939, went home to be with the Lord Dec. 28, 2013. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Arvil and Bertha Wright; also, Minnie Wright, J.C. Wright, Thomas “Duck” Wright, and Bobbie Vines; and a grandson, Anthony Wright. He is survived by his sister Helen Vines, and five children: Donna Wright Bowman, Glenda Wright, Penny Wright, Danny Wright and wife Peggy, Randy Wright and wife Lisa. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2014, at 3 p.m. at Crossroads Baptist Church, 1633 Wilkesboro Blvd., Lenoir, NC.
The family will receive friends at the church from 2 until 3.

Willa Dean Lambert Jackson, 81, of Lenoir passed away Sunday, Dec. 29, 2013, at Caldwell Hospice of Lenoir.
Born on Sept. 27, 1932, in Caldwell County, Mrs. Jackson was the daughter of the late Donald Lambert and Roxie Watson Lambert. Mrs. Jackson was employed in textiles and was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Jackson was preceded in death by her loving husband, Paul J. Jackson, and a son, Robert Houston Jackson.
Those left to cherish the memory of Willa Dean Jackson include her two sons, Paul Gregory Jackson (Debbie) of the home and William Michael Jackson of Lenoir; two daughters, Donna Norris (Johnny) of Collettsville, and Carol Shoun of Lenoir; a brother, Harold Lambert of Lenoir; four sisters, Mary Kemp of Hudson, Shirley Briscoe of Lenoir, Carolyn Holder of Lenoir, and Doris Wallace of Granite Falls; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
The family of Mrs. Jackson received friends at Pendry’s Lenoir Funeral Home on Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2013, from 6–8 p.m. The funeral service for Mrs. Jackson will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2014, at Pendry’s Lenoir Funeral Home Chapel with Pastors Brian David Smith and Darrell Wright officiating. Interment will follow the service at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Chris Hicks, Jerry Hamby, Robert Lee Norris, Tony Teague, Ronny Teague, and Joe Holder.
