Violet Bolick

Violet Direna Fisher Bolick, 89, of Hickory passed away Saturday, March 16, 2013, at her residence. There will be no services at this time. Bass-Smith Granite Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Harry Suddreth Sr.

Harry Kent Suddreth Sr., 69, of Jonesville passed away Saturday, March, 16 2013, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. Mr. Suddreth was born Nov. 20, 1943, in Caldwell County to Tom and Irene Bryant Suddreth. He was retired from Asplundh Tree Company with 51 years of service. Mr. Suddreth attended Ronda First Baptist Church. He was an avid outdoorsman and a lifelong member of the Clingman Bass Masters.

Survivors include his lifelong friend and mother of his children, Lois Suddreth of Jonesville; sons, Harry Kent Suddreth Jr. and wife Teresa of Jonesville, and Barry Dean Suddreth and wife Julie of Sherrils Ford; daughters, Teresa S. Tharpe and friend Will Lancaster of State Road, Susan S. Baker and husband Brian of Jonesville, and Beth S. Pence and husband Matthew of State Road; brothers, Tommy Suddreth and wife Rosalie of Lenoir, Jim Suddreth of Newton, Bob Suddreth and wife Annette of Lenoir, and Johnny Suddreth and wife Madge of Lenoir; sisters, Eula Parsons of Lenoir, Betty Suddreth of Hudson, Bertha Griffin of Lenoir, and Lida Martinat and husband Silvio of Lenoir; special friends, Charles Trice and wife Louise of Newland, and Tony Chambers and wife Mary of Hamptonville; and 14 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, March 19, at 2 p.m. at Ronda First Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Crestwood Memorial Gardens. The family received friends Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service.

The family requests that memorials be made to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center: Comprehensive Cancer Center: Cancer Support Program, Medical Center Boulevard, Winston-Salem, NC 27157.

The family would like to thank the staff of Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center for their care.

Donald Dula

Donald Eugene Dula, 54, of Lenoir passed away Saturday, March 16, 2013, at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care.

Mr. Dula was born in Caldwell County to the late John Christian Dula and Dorothy Corpening Dula. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Sherry Jane Dula, and an infant daughter.

Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Randy Eugene Dula of Lenoir; a daughter, Victoria Harshaw of Lenoir; a brother; John Dula Jr. of California; sisters, Amy Denny of Lenoir, Doris Bodford of Lenoir and Connie Dula of Lenoir.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 20, at First Church of God, Lenoir, at 2 p.m. with Evangelist Sharon Logan and the Rev. Jerome Pearson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Liam and William McGee

Infants Liam Dwane McGee and William Dwane McGee, sons of Teddy McGee and Wendy Pennington of Granite Falls, passed away Saturday, March 16, 2013, at Caldwell Memorial Hospital.

In addition to their parents, they are survived by three sisters, Hannah, Hailey and Leslie McGee; two brothers, Teddy Jr. and Christopher McGee; and grandparents, Roger McGee, and Zane Reid and Joyce McGee.

No services are scheduled at this time.

Linda Ruzicka

Linda Sue Ruzicka, 59, of Southaven Drive, Lenoir, died Friday, March 15, 2013, at the residence. Services and interment will be held in Illinois at a later date. Greer-McElveen Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.

Dennis Cozart

Dennis James Cozart, 58, of Piney Grove Circle, Lenoir, died Sunday, March 17, 2013. He was born Feb. 16, 1955, in Caldwell County to the late James Thomas Cozart and Kathleen Chester Cozart.

He was a member of Nelson Chapel Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Bolick Cozart of the home; two sons, Darian I. Cozart and wife Allison, and James David Cozart and wife Brandy, both of Lenoir; one daughter, Christy Watson and husband Lonnie of Lenoir; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; aunt, Evelyn Pipes of Lenoir; and numerous cousins.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, March 19, at 2 p.m. at Nelson Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery conducted by the Rev. Lane Hamby.

Serving as pallbearers will be: Lonnie Watson, Kevin Cozart, Nick Cozart, Christopher Watson, Ethan Cozart and George Cloer Sr.

Honorary pallbearers will be L.J. Watson and Jack Harris.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to: Nelson Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 4958 Kirby Mountain Road, Lenoir, N.C. 28645.

Sue Buckner

Sue Helton Buckner, 81, of Fairview Drive SW, Lenoir, died Sunday, March 17, 2013, at the residence. She was born March 14, 1932, in Caldwell County to the late George and Emma Craig Helton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hillard Clyde Buckner; daughter, Debra Ellen Bentley; son, Kenneth Harold Buckner; six brothers; and five sisters.

Mrs. Buckner was retired from Singer Furniture and was a member of Temple Baptist Church.

Survivors include one son, Anthony Clyde Buckner of Lenoir; two daughters, Juanita Buckner Stout and husband Michael, and Elizabeth Diane Buckner, both of Lenoir; brothers, Lloyd Helton of Lenoir and David Helton of Kennewick, Wash.; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a nephew, Clarence Helton of Lenoir; and a niece, Carol Davis Beasley of Lenoir.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 20, at 2 p.m. at Temple Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Joel Bixler. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens of Lenoir.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home.

Serving as pallbearers will be: Michael Stout, Jon Stout, Rev. James Bentley, Paul Shumate, Brandon Bentley and Jason Harris.

Honorary pallbearers will be: Michael Smith and Bradley Moore.

Ralph Sylvester Perkins, 103, of 2121 Brown Mountain Beach Road, Morganton, died Friday, March 15, 2013. Funeral services will be March 21 at 3 p.m. at Fleming Memorial Chapel at Ebony Funeral Services. The family will receive friends from 2-2:55 at the chapel before the services.
