Bobby Ray Lewis, 69, of Conover passed away June 21, 2013, at Frye Regional Medical Center. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, June 26, at 2 p.m. at Hughes Presbyterian Church in Hughes. Burial will follow in Daniels Cemetery. Online condolences may be made to email@example.com.
Rella Ann Reid, 48, of Lincolnton went home to be with the Lord at 10:05 p.m. on Saturday June 22, 2013, at Levine & Dickson Hospice House in Huntersville, with her loving partner by her side. Born Sept. 30, 1964, in Catawba County, she was the daughter of James Ray “Bus” Reid and Patsy Ann Hall Reid of Granite Falls.
Rella loved Scooby-Doo and collected memorabilia most of her life. She enjoyed researching genealogy and loved the beach.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her loving partner of 18 years, Cathy Ann Alvis of the home; a sister, Reba Eileen Reid of Hickory; her brother, Ryan Logan Reid of Granite Falls; and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday, June 26, in the chapel at Jenkins Funeral Home in Newton.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Wednesday, June 26, in the chapel.

Bobby Gene Lowe, 61, passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2013, at Frye Regional Medical Center. He was born in Catawba County on Aug. 6, 1951, to the late Robert L. Lowe and Timmie Taylor Lowe. He was married to Georgia Main Lowe of the home. Mr. Lowe was a member of East Flat Baptist Church and was a truck driver for Ideal Transportation.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Kathleen Marie Lowe; two sisters, Jeanette Small and Betty Greene; two brothers, Gary Lowe and John Melton Jr.; and three infant grandchildren, Chase Killiam, Garrett Killian, and Ashley Killian.
Other than his wife, he is survived by his children, Robin Smith and husband Samuel, Michael Clark and wife Beth, Chris Clark and wife Traci, and Tracy Killian; sisters, Lorene Petitt and husband Carl, and Ruby Lowe; brothers, Steve Lowe, Wayne Melton, and Bobby Melton; 14 grandchildren; his only great-grandchild, Greyson Lane Bingham; and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Bob's life will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 26, at East Flat Baptist Church with Pastor Mike Gragg and Pastor Claude Suddreth officiating. Interment will take place immediately following the service in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 6:30 p.m. prior to the service at the church.

Mrs. Gail K. Wilson, 82, of Lakewood Drive in Granite Falls, passed away Sunday, June 23, 2013, at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care.
Born Leah Gail Kirby on April 6, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Grover Cleveland Kirby and Maggie Taylor Kirby. She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Carl Dewey Wilson; brothers, G. Taylor Kirby, O. Boyd Kirby, Tony L. Kirby and infant James Carroll Kirby; and by two sisters, Ilene K. Mackie and Margaret K. Landry.
She is survived by two sons, Eddie (Sylvia) Wilson and Dennis (Paula) Wilson, all of Granite Falls. Also surviving are her beloved grandchildren, Scott (Jeanna) Wilson, Matthew (Natalie) Wilson, Andrew (Jessica) Wilson, Mandy (AC) Phillips and Ashley (James) Starnes, also of Granite Falls. She leaves behind eight great-grandchildren, Cayley and Leah Wilson, Grace Munday, Abigail Phillips, Madelyn Wilson, Rachel and Ava Starnes and Lawson Wilson. She is also survived by two sisters, June K. Honeycutt of Granite Falls and Sylvia K. Crisp of Myrtle Beach S.C.; sisters-in-law, Louise W. Cox and Mickey W. (Owen) Calloway; brothers-in-law, W. Farel Warlick and Darrell (Christine) Wilson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Gail was retired from Broyhill Furniture Company, where she was employed as a shipping supervisor. She was a charter member of the Women’s Auxiliary of the Sawmills Fire Department, where her husband served as the first fire chief and was also active in the formation of the Town of Sawmills.
Gail and Carl were partners for many years with Howard and Lois Cannon in the business Industrial Seaming, Little Stitches and CWS Fashions. She was a member of Dry Ponds Baptist Church for over 60 years and a member of the Hallelujah Sunday School Class.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 26, 2013, at Dry Ponds Baptist Church in Granite Falls with Dr. D. Rick Crouse officiating. The family will receive friends at 1 p.m. with the funeral following at 2:30 p.m. Burial will take place at Dry Ponds Baptist Church cemetery.
Serving as pall bearers will be Ronnie Taylor and grandsons Scott, Matthew and Andrew Wilson, James Starnes and AC Phillips.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Pastor Rick Crouse, Associate Pastor Josh Dellinger and the CARE team at Dry Ponds Baptist Church for their kindness and unfailing support to Gail for many years and especially during the time that she spent at Caldwell Hospice. We would also like to express our gratitude for the care given by the staff of Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care and a special thank you to Sandra Land from Caregivers by Design.

Linda Mae Hicks Davis, 63, of Brookshire Road in Lenoir passed away Sunday, June 23, 2013, at Glenbridge Health & Rehabilitation in Boone. Born March 6, 1950, in the Valle Crucis community of Watauga County, she was a daughter of Linville Hicks and the late Hazel Ward Hicks. Linda’s love in life was her family, and she enjoyed keeping an immaculate home and tending to her annual flower gardens. For a number of years, she was employed in the housekeeping department of various area motels.
Linda was preceded in death by her husband, J.D. Davis, and is survived by her daughter, Mary Rich of Boone; her father, Linville Hicks of Boone; three grandchildren, Nicole Rich and companion Brent Small, Tiffany Rich and companion Chris Small, and John Rich and wife Hayley and great-grandson Colton Rich, all of Lenoir; two sisters, Jean Harmon and husband Ernest, and Helen Spencer, all of Vale; and three brothers, Frank Hicks and wife Rosie, and Mack Hicks and wife Shirley, all of Vale, and Lee Hicks of Boone. A number of nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Memorial services will be conducted Friday, June 28, at 2 p.m. at the Austin & Barnes Funeral Chapel, officiated by the Rev. Daniel Trantham. The family will receive friends Friday afternoon from 1 to 2 p.m. at Austin & Barnes.
