Kathleen Coughlin

Kathleen "Kathy" Boston Coughlin, 73, died Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013.

Mrs. Coughlin was born Sept. 26, 1939, in Lenoir. She was the daughter of the late Frank Norman Boston and Willie Mae Penley Boston. She retired from UNCC, where she worked as an administrative assistant. After her retirement, she was a medical transcriptionist. She was a member of Landis First Assembly, where she was active in all phases of her church, including organist, pianist and Sunday school teacher. She was a graduate of Lenoir High School and Berkshire Christian College in Lenox, Mass.

Kathy was a very loving wife, mother and grandmother and was also a very supportive and caring Pastor’s wife.

Mrs. Coughlin is survived by her husband of 53 years, the Rev. William H. Coughlin; two daughters, Pamela Joy Coughlin of Kansas City, Mo., and Bethany Alice Coughlin Ledwell and husband Robert of Concord; son, Stephen William Coughlin of Salisbury; two brothers, Floyd N. Boston and J.D. Boston, both of Lenoir; eight grandchildren, Alyssa, Madison and Grant Coughlin, Jessica Held, Cody and Kayla Luck, and Emily and Katie Ledwell.

A funeral service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2013, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Roger Byrd will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Lady's Funeral Home.

Edward Isenhour

Edward Aaron Isenhour, 79, of Granite Falls went to be with his Lord on Sept. 1, 2013, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.

Born on April 19, 1934, in Caldwell County, he was the son of the late Irene and Bill Church. Edward was a true Patriot, he retired from the United States Air Force after 22 years of service. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Edward loved to fish and work on antique cars. He was a devoted member of New Life Baptist Church in Lenoir.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers, David Leo Icenhour; Carroll Isenhour, and sister, Shirley Stafford.

Survivors include his loving wife of 43 years, Sue Isenhour of Granite Falls; children, Tony Pelliccione and wife Amy of Granite Falls, John Pelliccione and wife Venessa of Baton, Kathy Cline and husband David of Granite Falls; grandchildren, Steven Pelliccione, Anthony Pelliccione, Stephanie Pelliccione, Emily Pelliccione, Aaron Cline, Sara Cline; and great-daughters, Mackenzie, Kaylee, and Madeline.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2013, at 3 p.m. at Catawba Funerals & Cremations with the Rev. Phillip Hawkins officiating. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2-3 p.m. at the funeral home.

Helen Lail

Helen Louise Stallings Lail, 94, of Granite Falls died Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013.

Visitation will be Tuesday, Sept. 3, from 2:30-4 p.m. at Dudley Shoals Baptist Church with the Funeral services to follow at the church at 4 p.m.

Kimberly Gaines

Kimberly Leeman Gaines, 51, of Lenoir died Sunday, Sept. 1, 2013.

Kim had a deep passion for literature and poetry, as well as for history. She was a textile artist with a vast knowledge of sewing. She was kind and loving and took great joy in her grandchildren. She is gone too soon but she leaves an imprint on the hearts of all who knew her. Today the world has lost a bit of its brilliance as it always does when a bright light is extinguished, may her memory guide us and keep us. Until we meet again, adieu.

Kim is survived by her "significant other" Brenda Gaines; two daughters, Theresa Arenas and Sarah Jones; daughter-in-law Jillian Bolan; son Jeremy Leeman; daughter-in-law Leigh Cowart; mother Rebecca Porter; sister Diane Martin; brother in-law Joe Martin; nieces Jennifer Price and Cyndi Martin; and seven grandchildren.

There will be a private celebration of life in Kim’s honor. Instead of flowers we are asking that donations be made to the Battered Women’s Shelter of Lenoir in her name.

Agnes Thompson Scroggs of Lenoir passed away Monday, Sept. 2, 2013, at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care in Lenoir. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Greer-McElveen Funeral Home and Crematory.
