Ruth Setzer

Ruth Setzer, 87, of Lenoir passed away Thursday, May 30, 2013, at Carolina Rehab Center of Burke.

A graveside service will be held Sunday, June 2, 2013, at 3 p.m. at Blue Ridge Memorial Park.

Visitation will be held at Pendry’s Lenoir Funeral Home on Sunday from 2 to 3 p.m.

Melissa Kimberlin

Melissa Dawn Kimberlin, 40, of Simpsonville, S.C., passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2013, in Greenville, S.C.

Ms. Kimberlin was born in Burke County to Rodney Kimberlin of Lenoir and Jeanine Riddle of Stuart, Fla. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her son, Justin Kimberlin of Lenoir; her brothers, Brian Edwards of Hildebrand and Steven Kimberlin of Lenoir; and her sisters, Cristina Kimberlin and Dallas Kimberlin, both of Lenoir.

She was a member of Rocky Creek Ministry Baptist Church in Greenville, S.C.

A memorial service will be held Monday, June 3, 2013, at 11 a.m. in Pendry’s Chapel with the Rev. Doug Kimberlin.

Wallace Walker

Wallace (Wally) Marshall Walker, 57, of Gaither Walker Circle, Lenoir, died Wednesday, May 29, 2013, at the residence. He was born Feb. 12, 1956, in Caldwell County to Wallace C. Walker of Lenoir and the late Molly Whisnant Walker.

Mr. Walker was employed in the furniture industry and was a member of Mount Zion United Methodist Church.

Survivors in addition to his father include a son, Wallace Gray Walker of Lenoir; three sisters, Sheila Joplin of Hudson, Diane McCrary of Lenoir and Linda K. Foltz of Independence, Ky.; and special niece Christal McCrary of Lenoir.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, June 1, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Mount Zion United Methodist Church conducted by the Rev. Julie Roberts and Rev. Steve Butler.

Mary Cobb

Mary Lee Stallings Cobb went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 29, 2013.

She was born in Caldwell County on Dec. 6, 1921, to the late Leonard Coleman Lee and Clara Elmira Barlow Lee. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Fred Stallings, and second husband, Fred Cobb; a brother, Leonard Ray Lee; and a sister, Ester Lee Hayes.

Mrs. Cobb was a faithful member of Fellowship Baptist Church. She was a loving mother and homemaker. She had a love of gardening, bird watching and cross-stitch. She was loved by all and she dearly loved her family.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Colon Stallings and wife Norma of Lenoir, Kenneth Stallings and wife Rachel of Hudson, and Larry Stallings and wife Sandy of Hudson; a sister, Betty Jo “Midge” Greer of Cleveland, Ohio; grandchildren, Tammy Stallings Thomasson and husband David of Hudson, Bryan Stallings of Lenoir, Frazier Stallings and wife Melissa of Hudson, Jeana Stallings Shehan and husband Kevin of Hudson, Mark Stallings and wife Rhonda of Effingham, S.C., Todd Stallings and wife Carla of Waxhaw, and Tracey Stallings and wife Traci of Mooresville; great-grandchildren, Katie, Hannah, Trent and Nicholas Stallings, Emily and Carter Thomasson, Josh and Mallorie Shehan.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, June 1, 2013, at 3 p.m. at Fellowship Baptist Church. Burial will be private.
