Fred Schreiber Jr.
Fred Gilbert Schreiber Jr., 70, of Granite Falls died Saturday, April 20, 2013, at Valdese General Hospital. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, April 23, at 7 p.m. at Solid Rock Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at the church from 6-7 p.m.
Donald Ray Bowman, 46, passed away at his residence on April 21, 2013. Funeral arrangements are pending.

Mary Ellen Grose Trivette, 58, of Ferguson died Sunday, April 21, 2013, at Catawba Valley Medical Center. She was born Jan. 25, 1955, in Caldwell County to Chelsie and Mildred Grose. Mrs. Trivette was preceded in death by her father, Chelsie Grose; husband, Jones Trivette; and two brothers, Grover Grose and Randy Grose.
Mrs. Trivette was a member of Beaver Creek Advent Christian Church in Ferguson.
Mary Ellen Grose Trivette was a loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and friend to many. She will be missed dearly and will live in our hearts always and forever.
Survivors include her mother, Mildred Hamby Grose; sons, Kelly Payne of Boomer and Chelsie John Soulagnet of New Orleans; one daughter, Jessica Payne of Hickory; four brothers, Terry Grose, Paul Grose, Benny Grose and Mike Grose, all of Ferguson; three sisters, Jannette Grose and Donna Triplett of Ferguson, and Madge Dunn of Star; one grandson, Johnny Soulagnet; and three granddaughters, Alexis Johnson, Kassidy Payne and Megan Anderson.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 24, at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, 239 Champion / Mount Pleasant Road, Ferguson, N.C. 28624, at 2 p.m. conducted by the Rev. Horace Minton. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home, 725 Wilkesboro Blvd. NE, Lenoir, N.C. 28645.

Buddy J. Kornoelje, 75, formerly of Grand Rapids, Mich., and Hudson, passed away on March 13, 2013, in Indiana.
He is survived by his siblings, Dorothy Kornoely and Merlin Kornoely; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Frances Kornoelje; sisters Angnes Prince, Marian K. Atwood of Hudson, Alice Olson and Virginia Combs; brothers Leo Kornoely, Deward Kornoely and Glen Kornoely.
Buddy was a sales representative, retiring from Iwanna of Hickory in 2002. He was a very kind, outgoing man who loved golfing, especially during his retirement years.
A memorial service was held April 6, 2013, at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home in Schererville, Ind.
A graveside service will be held April 30 at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens at 1545 Orchard Drive, Lenoir. Condolences may be made at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Ella Odessa Kincaid Johnson, 91, of 4080 Piney Road, Morganton, passed away Friday, April 19, 2013, at her residence. Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 24, at 3 p.m. at Hartland Church of God. The family will receive friends from 2-2:55 p.m. at the church.
Danny Ray Greene, 59, of Taylorsville passed away April 21, 2013, at Wake Forest Baptist University Medical Center.
Born May 4, 1953, in Caldwell County, he was the son of the late Alfred William Greene Sr. and Louise Walker Greene.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death a grandson, William Jason Greene; a brother, Alfred William Greene Jr.; and step-nephew, Michael Williams.
Mr. Greene was employed by Fedex and the Hickory Furniture Mart and was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by two sons, Nick Greene and wife Crystal of Bethlehem, and Nathan Greene of Bethlehem; grandson, Nathaniel Jason Greene Jr.; two brothers, Jimmy Greene of Bethlehem, and Russell Greene and wife Shelia of Bethlehem; sister, Debra Greene Kerley and husband Monroe of Lenoir; two nieces, Angela and Jessica Greene of Bethlehem; nephew, James Greene; step-nephew, Raymond Williams and wife Tina; two uncles, Neil Walker and wife Kathie of Bethlehem, and Roger Walker of Bethlehem; aunt, Reba Austin of Grace Chapel; a special cousin, Alan Greene and wife Cindy of Lancaster, S.C.; and a number of cousins.
Mr. Greene will be greatly missed by his family and other loved ones. He was a loving father, grandfather, and brother.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 24, at Bass-Smith Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Neal Walker officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:30-1 prior to the memorial service.
