Anne B. Simmons, of Granite Falls went home to be with her Lord on Nov. 13, 2012.
She was preceded in death by her husband John; infant son, Bruce; and great-grandson Jonathan.
She is survived by daughter, Debbie Indicott, (Brad); and son, Dennis (Janet); granddaughters, Jennifer Indicott and Julie Waldrep (Wes); grandsons Matt (Catrina), Tim (Beth) and Dennis II (Stacy); a brother, David Button (Dixie); and six great-grandchildren.
There will be a memorial service on Dec. 15 at 11 a.m. at Crest View Baptist, 1908 Blowing Rock Road, Lenoir, followed by family and friends in the fellowship hall.
Memorials may be sent to CVBC Building Fund or Caldwell Hospice.

Jean Scroggin, 82, of Prestwood Drive, Lenoir, died Tuesday, December 11, 2012, at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care - Lenoir. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Greer-McElveen Funeral Home and Crematory.
Infant Luke Bentley Gates passed away on Saturday, December 8, 2012, at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born on December 7, 2012, to Michael Gates and Dessiray Whitaker of Granite Falls. A graveside service will be held at Calvary Memorial Gardens in Connelly Springs, N.C., on Friday, December 14, 2012, at 3 p.m. with Pastor David Robinson officiating. Mrs. Sylvia Rose Ray Bentley, 66, of Garden City, S.C., passed away on Monday, December 10, 2012, at the home of her daughter.
Born August 17, 1946, in Watauga County, Sylvia was a daughter of the late Frank and Nancy “Vertie” Greer Ray. She was a homemaker, enjoyed painting, working on crafts and gardening. She was a former member of Blairs Fork Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, William Frank Ray; and a sister, Judy Ray Coffey.
Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Jerry Ray Bentley; her children, Kim Barlow, husband John of Lenoir, Gregg Bentley of Lenoir, Kendra Smith and husband Tom of Lexington, N.C., Glendra Chambers and husband Mark of Lexington, S.C.; her grandchildren, Candy Enloe, Tiffany Walston Shatley, Ginger Reynolds, Erica Bentley, Alexis Smith, Nickalus Smith, Kristin Dillard and Lauren Chambers; she also is survived by four great-grandchildren, Hayden Enloe, Madison Keller, Alana Caudill and Tyler Elizabeth Reynolds; two sisters and numerous other relatives.
A celebration of Sylvia’s life will be held on Thursday, December 13, 2012, at 4 p.m. in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service with Pastor David Bentley and Pastor Lane Hamby officiating.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 3 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home.

Funeral services are scheduled to be held on Friday, December 14, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Shiloh AME Church. The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 13, 2012 from 6-8 p.m. at Fleming Memorial Chapel at Ebony Funeral Services. Burial will follow services at Shiloh AME Church Cemetery.
