Robert James Carlton, a 1981 graduate of Wilkes Central High School and a member of Thankful Baptist Church, passed away at 51 years of age on Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2013, at his residence. Mr. Carlton was born in Lenoir to the late Howard Lee Carlton and Ila Mae Davenport Carlton of Boomer on May 20, 1962. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and was awarded The Air Force Achievement Medal for meritorious service. He worked in real estate for 25 years and played for the semi-professional football team Carolina Gators for seven years.
Mr. Carlton is survived by his wife, Bonnie; one daughter, Ashley and her husband, Greg Baker; and one son, Brandon Carlton, all of Charlotte. Survivors also include six grandchildren; one sister, Eileen Parsons of Hickory; and four brothers, Howard L. Davenport of Boomer, Michial Carlton of Atlanta, Ga., Joseph Carlton of Charlotte, and Mark Carlton of Fremont, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his father; paternal grandparents, Roy I. and Sophronia Carlton; and maternal grandparents, Eugene and Alice Mae Davenport.
The family will receive friends Friday at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home in North Wilkesboro from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Saturday at 3 p.m. at Reins-Sturdivant Chapel with burial at Scenic Memorial Gardens.
Louis Albert Arnold, 82, of Lenoir passed away Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2013, at Frye Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Arnold was born in Sullivan County, Tenn., to the late Jacob Arnold and Maude Stone Arnold. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by nine brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Audrey Clark Arnold of the home, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013, in Pendry’s Chapel at 11 a.m. with the Rev. John Gray officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Pendry’s Lenoir Funeral Home Friday, Dec. 6, 2013, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Helen Alice Virginia Logan Kincaid, 82, of 3664 Piney Road, Morganton, died Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2013.
Funeral services will be Monday, Dec. 9, at noon at Hartland Church of God. The family will receive friends from 11-11:55 a.m. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
