John Wesley Morgan, 82, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, July 25, 2014, at Camelot Manor. He was born Nov. 2, 1931, to the late James Wesley and Hilma Ritchner Morgan. Mr. Morgan was a Veteran of the U.S. Army.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen Prestwood Morgan, and one great-grandchild, Clifton Woodie.
He is survived by his son, John Michael and wife Deborah Morgan of Connelly Springs; three daughters, Pamela Kern and finance Lewis Bailey of Lenoir, Kathy and husband Kevin Townsend of Granite Falls, and Mary Jo Morgan of Wilmington; eight grandchildren, Doland Willis, Danielle Green, Christopher Townsend, Amanda Wishon, Kristena Lofton, Jennifer Hopson, Katherine Woodie, and Beth Anne McCall; and 13 great-grandchildren.
A private graveside burial will take place at Blue Ridge Memorial Park, Lenoir, on Tuesday, July 29, 2014, at 2 p.m. Military rites will be provided by DAV Chapters 6 and 84.

Maleah Beth Jett Haas, 50, of Lenoir passed away on Friday, July 25, 2014, at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care in Lenoir.
Born Oct. 26, 1963, in Caldwell County, Maleah was a daughter of the late John Harvey Jett Jr. and Maxine Livingston Jett. Maleah was a teacher for many years and was very active in the PTA. She was a big supporter of Caldwell County Schools. Maleah will be remembered as a loving mother.
Survivors include her husband, Jeff Haas of Lenoir; three sons, Ian Haas, Will Haas and Franklin Haas of Lenoir; two daughters, Anna Haas and Charlotte Haas of Lenoir; four brothers, John Jett III, wife Carol, of Lenoir, Roger Jett, wife Debbie, of Granite Falls, Bruce Jett, wife Jacki, of Angier, and Scott Jett, wife Lisa, of Granite Falls; three sisters, Donna Jett Whitson, husband Ted, of Greensboro, Pat Jett Thrift of Winston-Salem, and Marty Jett Anderson, husband Cliff, of Lenoir.
Funeral services for Mrs. Haas will be held on Monday, July 28, 2014, at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church at 6 p.m. with the Rev. Steve Strickler officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the church from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.
