Roger Dale Baldwin, 70, of Lenoir passed away Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013, at Caldwell Memorial Hospital, Lenoir.
Born July 28, 1943, in Caldwell County, he was the son of the late David Henry Baldwin and Lois Deal Baldwin. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, David Henry Baldwin Jr.
Mr. Baldwin was a member of Zack’s Fork Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Patricia “Pat” Baldwin of the home; son Chris Baldwin of Lenoir; two daughters, Aimee Baldwin Libera and husband Mitch of Lenoir, and Jamie Baldwin Bowlin and husband Wayne of Lenoir; the love of his life, his grandchildren, Jakob Barlow, Alyssa Bowlin and Katherine Libera; one brother, Gary Baldwin of Hudson; three sisters, Wanda Johnson of Lenoir, Marilyn Cardwell of Hudson, and Evelyn Barnes of Lenoir; a number of special nieces and nephews also surviving; a sister-in-law, Beulah Hayes and husband Ken of Boone.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Oct. 18, 2013, at 3 p.m. at Zack’s Fork Baptist Church with the Rev. Joel Borders and the Rev. Chad Baldwin officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. Friday, prior to the service at Zack’s Fork Baptist Church.
Serving as pallbearers will be Charlie Shatley, Charles Kincaid, Jeff and Greg Whittington, Mike Moffitt, and Barry Warren.

Evangelist Allene B. Pearson, 70, of Piney Road, Morganton, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013, at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care – Lenoir. She was born Feb. 21, 1943, in Caldwell County to the late Henry Allen and Mary Ferguson Banner. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, William L. Banner and Donald Banner; and daughter, Mary Gail Johnson.
Mrs. Pearson was a dedicated wife and mother, a homemaker, a seamstress and was a member of Hartland Church of God.
Survivors include her husband, Edwin P. Pearson of the home; three sons, the Rev. Ronald Keith Banner Sr. of Killeen, Texas, and Donald P. Banner Sr. and Eddy R. Wakefield, both of Morganton; two daughters, Zephanese Kincaid of the home and Tara Banner and friend John Roberts of Augusta, Ga.; two brothers, Norman B. Banner and Roger S. Banner, both of Lenoir; two sisters, Janice V. White and husband Raymond of Baltimore, Md., and Linda L. Lockhart and husband Jerry of Lenoir; 18 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013, at 3 p.m. at Hartland Church of God conducted by the Rev. Ronald Keith Banner. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. prior to the services at the church.
Serving as pallbearers will be family and friends.
Flower bearers will be Mrs. Pearson’s nieces.
