Janet Elizabeth Barker, 54, of Hudson passed away Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2013, at her residence.
Born Dec. 9, 1958, in Caldwell County, she was the daughter of the late William W. Barker and Merita Hice Barker of Granite Falls. In addition to her father she was preceded in death by her sister, Claudia Barker.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her brother, Neil W. Barker of West Liberty, Ky.
Graveside services were held Friday, Oct. 18, 2013, at the Sunset Hills Cemtery, Granite Falls.

Katie Sue Dugger Garland, 57, of Lenoir died Oct. 17, 2013, at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care in Hudson.
Mrs. Garland was born to the late William Freeman and Mierl Harmon Dugger in Avery County on July 24, 1956. She worked for years as a waitress, cook, and cashier at Mammy’s Country Kitchen, where she had many regular customers. She was a member of the Route 66 car club and an avid collector; among her favorites were her Wizard of Oz and porcelain doll collections. But her most prized possessions were her six beautiful grandchildren, Stacie, Cara, Emma, Sadie, Riley, and Cooper.
Mrs. Garland is survived by her son, Rickey Garland and his wife, Beth, of Hampstead; daughter Rebecca Harris and her husband, Brandon, of Hildebran; brother Richard Dugger and his wife, Rita, of Conover; brother Jerry Dugger and his wife, Lisa, of Butler, Tenn.; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Garland is preceded in death by her husband of nearly 40 years, Ricky Garland, and sister, Brenda Ellis.
The visitation will be held on Saturday, Oct. 19 at Evans Funeral Home in Lenoir from 2-3 p.m. with the Revs. Tony Bowman and Clyde Bumgarner officiating at the service immediately following. Interment will be at the Harmon Cemetery in Beech Mountain on Sunday, Oct. 20, at 12 p.m. Pallbearers will be Brandon Harris, Caleb Hildebran, Allen Dugger, Travis Dugger, and Travis Anglin.
The children and grandchildren would like to give special thanks to Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care for the loving treatment their parents and grandparents received there, and also to their aunts Rita and Lisa for their unending love and support during this incredibly difficult time.

Chadley O’Neil Lancaster Sr., 43, of Harmony died Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2013.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. tonight at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home in Statesville and 2-3 p.m. Sunday at Statesville Full Gospel Tabernacle, with the funeral service following at 3 p.m.
Eula Faye Walker, 70, of Woodside Terrace, Granite Falls, died Friday, Oct. 18, 2013, at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care – Hudson. She was born July 27, 1943, in Caldwell County to the late Jim and Hattie Greene Lackey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Billy Parsons; second husband, Larry Loftin; two sons, Drew Loftin and Timothy Parsons; and sister, Barbara Baker.
Mrs. Walker was a Certified Nursing Assistant for Hospice and a member of First Baptist Church of Whitnel.
Survivors include her husband, Donald Walker; two daughters, Venessa Pelliccione and husband John of Baton, and Angela Corne and husband Bryan of Kernersville; grandchildren, Steven Pelliccione, Stephanie Pelliccione, Andrew Corne and Zachary Corne; stepsons, Timm Walker and wife Jeannie of Collettsville, and Reggie Walker and wife Pat; stepdaughters, Donna Stevens and husband Chad, Maria Ledbetter, and Michele East and husband Ricky, all of Lenoir; nine step-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held Sunday, Oct. 20, 2013, at 1 p.m. at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens of Lenoir conducted by the Rev. Don Ingle.
