Leanna Pulley Veasley, 98, of Lenoir went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013, at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem. Mrs. Veasley was born April 17, 1915, to the late Callie Jeffrey and Willie Pulley in Wynne, Ark. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cleveland Veasley Sr.; a son, Cleveland Veasley Jr.; her four brothers, Leroy Pulley Sr., Sandy, William and Sam Curry; and her four sisters, Martha Foster, Ollie Levesque, Ann Howard, and Hannah Bethea. She was a member of Mount Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church, Lenoir, where she was one of the oldest members and mother of the Church. She leaves to cherish her memory a devoted son, Charles Veasley of the home; one daughter, Claudette Dickerson (Glen) of Evington, Va.; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends also survive. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013, 12 noon at Mount Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church, Lenoir, with the Rev. James Ikie Perkins officiating. The family will receive friends from 11 to 11:55 a.m. at the Church. The burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Park. Ebony Funeral Services of Lenoir is serving the Veasley Family. Rickie Hewey Crane, 62, of Greenway Street, Lenoir, died Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2013, at Camelot Manor Nursing Facility. He was born Wednesday, Dec. 2, 1950, in Caldwell County to Margie Triplett Crane of Hudson and the late William Hewey Crane.
Mr. Crane was a correctional officer and a member of South Lenoir Church of God.
Survivors in addition to his mother include his wife, Audrey Chavis Crane of the home; daughters, Billie Harless and husband Jon of Wilkesboro, and Camilla Oxentine and husband Chris of Boomer; brother, Tracy Crane of Hudson; sister, Peggy Hall and husband Bill of Lenoir; three grandchildren, Christalynn Russell, Dana Oxentine and Hunter Oxentine; two nieces, Karen Hall and husband Norton Webster of Pittsboro, and Kim Hall and husband Ryan Jones of Fayetteville; three great-nieces; and three great-nephews.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, Sept. 22, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home Chapel conducted by the Rev. Ernest Bowes. Interment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. prior the service at the funeral home.
Serving as pallbearers will be family and friends.

Linda Sue Heafner Houser, 71, of Hickory passed away on Sept. 18, 2013, at Carolina Rehab of Burke County.
Born July 20, 1942, in Lincoln County, she was the daughter of Letha Cunningham Heafner of Lincolnton, and the late Lander Heafner Sr.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Gene Houser.
Mrs. Houser had retired from Century Furniture after 47 years of service and was an avid gardener. She was a loving mother, daughter, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Along with her mother, she is survived by two sons: Rodney Houser and wife Vicki of Connelly Springs, and Michael Houser and wife Teresa of Connelly Springs; two brothers, the Rev. Lander Heafner Jr. and wife Polly of Crossnore, and Tommy Heafner and wife Beth of Lincolnton; grandchildren Dawn, Ashley, Ryan, Kyle and Kelsey; and six great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 22, 2013, in the chapel at Bass-Smith Funeral Home with the Chaplain Larry Cronk officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home.

Wayne Benjamin Sullivan, 75, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Thursday, Sept. 19, 2013, at Caldwell County Hospice and Palliative Care in Hudson. He was born April 25, 1938, in Caldwell County to the late Benjamin Andrew and Elsie Smith Sullivan. Mr. Sullivan was a member of Mountain Grove Baptist Church. He was retired from Corning Cable as a security officer.
He is preceded in death by both parents.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Henrietta Hall Sullivan of the home; two daughters, Lisa Tuck and husband Victor of Roanoke, VA, Kim Jarrett-Riley and husband Gene of Hickory, NC; four grandsons, Andrew Basil Tuck of Norfolk, VA, David Obed Jarrett of Winston-Salem, NC, Alex Sullivan Jarrett of Hickory, NC, Michael Sean Riley of Hickory, NC; one granddaughter, Lindsey Reshea Riley of Hickory, NC; one sister, Barbara Forbes of Hudson, NC; one niece, Yulonda L. Forbes of Hickory, NC. He is also survived by his beloved pet, Scout.
The family will receive friends at Mackie Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, September 21, 2013, from 12:00 to 1:00 P.M. with the service to follow at 1:00 P.M. The Rev. Dr. Clifton Black and The Rev. Jeff Burkhimer will officiate. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Lenoir, NC.
